Every wine has a story and the Koerner’s starts in the Clare Valley. A partnership between brothers Damon and Jono Koerner, their wine philosophy is simple; great wines are made in the vineyard.
Sourcing only the best grapes grown in the Watervale area of the Clare Valley, the majority are sourced from their family vineyard, Gullyview, which has been owned and managed by mum and dad, Christine and Anthony Koerner for 38 years.
Marrying old world techniques and varietals with hands-off wine-making techniques, Koerner wines produce reds that are refreshingly light, while well-structured and textured. They’re known for their Italian varieties such as sciacarello, sangiovese and even produce a tempranillo worthy of their northern Spain contemporaries setting their product apart from the heavier reds typical of the Clare Valley region.
To achieve their signature notes, Koerner wines pick early and stick to traditional winemaking techniques that suit their fruit varietals.
A combination of their natural process and Mediterranean-style terroir allows for reds that are bright and vibrant, and aromatic whites that showcase their primary fruit.
