If you live in Adelaide, make sure you free up your calendar for Wednesday the 24th of July from 6pm onwards because you’re in for a big one.
Bistro Blackwood will be hosting the young gun of wine and the co-founder of Melbourne restaurant, Cumulus inc., Jayden Ong, at the next Winemaker Waiter event on the 24th of July.
Jayden’s foray into wine began in the early 2000’s when he cut his teeth at one of Melbourne’s legendary wine bars, Wine Room. After 6 successful years at Wine Room, Jayden took up a Wine Science degree at Charles Sturt University. He also completed vintages at a range of estates and wineries all the while gearing up to open Cumulus inc. in 2008 and Cumulus Up in 2012.
It’s not surprising that Jayden has not only launched one
wine label but a total of 4 since the launch of his first in 2010. One Block
focuses on select fruit from the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula and
aims to deliver wine that encapsulates a very specific time and place with its
single vineyard and single block fruit. One Block wines is joined by La Maison
de Ong which focuses on higher altitude reds and Moonlit Forest which is a new
range of unfiltered wines that tell a story about its beautiful surroundings.
Last on the list is his Jayden Ong ranges with whites and reds from his
vineyard in Chestnut Hill on Mt. Burnett.
